Kigali Anglican Theological College

The Rwandan Province of the Anglican Church was established in 1992.
Shortly thereafter, Bishops and other church leaders began to recognize
the need for a seminary to train pastors. This need increased dramatically
as a result of the 1994 genocide. Sending pastors out for training was cost-
prohibitive; consequently, the House of Bishops again turned to the idea
of having their own theological college. In 2002, they committed to the idea
of a residential seminary where pastors could study Old and New Testament,
theology, church planting, pastoral counseling, and community development.
Since then, the Church of the Resurrection has been involved in providing
resources, expertise, and establishing the library for the seminary.
